The so called 'cute food' day

When i woke up this morning I made my goal for today to have a 'cute food' day. I don't really know how you can get a 'cute' lunch or a 'cute' dinner but I interpret cute food as the atmosphere and authenticity.

Anyways, here is my lunch and afternoon tea. For lunch I had a Teriyaki Chicken bento box at Himawari in Elizabeth Arcade. The atmosphere was so Authentic! It was busy and hard to find a seat in a small, service was quick and food was amazing. All of this made me sit there and watch the japanese chefs cook. I was so relaxed and it reminded me of Japan. For afternoon tea I made Rosewater cupcakes with raspberries. They were good in the eyes of my sister and her housemates but im not a big fan of cupcakes or cakes really. I felt like getting into the 'Marie Antoinette' theme so i decorated the outside table with floral tablecloth and floral teapots. After all of this food i can safely say that I am full and most probably not going to eat breakfast and lunch tomorrow! However my family and I are going to the greek festival tomorrow so I don't know how that is going to turn out with not eating.

So for me its Goodnight.

Up and Coming Events!

There are some events coming soon, some are major and some are minor but they are all still excellent! Starting with the closest-to-the-date one, the Young Designers Market is on June 5th and is located at Little Stanly Street, Southbank. It will include Fashion, Jewlery, and Accesories.


Now for the exciting news! Merces Benz Fashion Week from the 20 - 26th of August! You will be able to buy tickets from the 20th of May and the program for the week will be announced on the 19th of May. The Over-Tired

I am so sorry I did not post a blog yesterday, I haven't got into the beat of TAFE. Saying that I will upload my outfit of the day (yesterdays one) today, however I wont upload my outfit of the day for today because it is pretty much exactly like yesterdays. Confusing.. yes.


Ending on a simple note, tomorrow is the first opening of the Bleeding Heart markets! It is located at the Bleeding Heart Cafe (166 Ann st, Brisbane). It will be selling handmade, art and vintage items! The market starts at 10am and will be open until 4pm.

Back to Reality

The title of this post sums it all up. Back to Tafe, back to stress and back to early morning.


Unfortunately I was unable to have internet connection in Darwin so this post will include everything that I wanted to say over the weekend.


Number 1-


KATE MIDDLETON'S ROYAL WEDDING DRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if I could have all the money in the world I would of chosen / designed that dress! It was absolutely stunning!, scratch all of those posts before were i said that they were amazing, this dress tops it times 100! It is truly ubelievable. Infact that whole day will be remembered for generations. Years from now i will probably be asked 'where were you when Kate and William got married?'. As I do now with my own mother.  The 29/04/2011 marked history, and will always be retold for generations to come.

Got the Frizzies

Rainy weather, frizzy hair and wet socks equal a miserable day. Today was a very boring wet day at Tafe. It is starting to become a constant thing now days, none the less who doesn't like cold weather. Although today was not up to scratch, I did manage to take a few shots of my mood boards from last term. There are fourteen mood boards and drawings, each one based on a different principle of design. These include line, shape, texture, principle of design 1 & 2 and some other drawings. I hope you like them.

The queen of Blogging

Currently I am researching Patty Huntington for Business at Tafe. Let me tell you now that she is a pretty remarkable women even though her bio on thepunch.com is only 4 paragraphs long. However her stories/blogs have been published in every Australian Newspaper and Buisness magazines! I mean come on, thats pretty impressive.


For those of you who are not familiar with the name Patty Huntington, she has been a blog writer for the last 20 years. Her blogs can be found on Facebook, Blogspot, Twitter and Twitpic under the names of 'frockwriter' or 'pattyhuntington'. She is a sydney based fashion Journalist and always has a front seat at the up can coming fashion shows. Some people love her others hate her but who cares about them.

Good morning!


I hope you all had a swell sleep last night, I sure did, however waking up at 5:30am isn't ideal haha. In about 20 minutes im off to the city to catch a bus to Tafe. Saying that I probably wont get home until 8 o'clock at night so I decided to upload the 'Outfit of the Day' now. I would of liked to have thigh high stockings/ socks with this but could only fine 1 sock haha! Anyways I hope you have a fantastic day.

“Yesterday our troubles seemed so far away, I believe in yesterday.”

My sister Sophie and I organised to go shopping today in the city to get clothing for her and a few small things for me. Thinking that we should get our exercise we walked to the city which takes 15 minutes.  After arriving in the city we went to find this cafe that I found on the internet which uses our favourite coffee (Black Star) However, silly me forgot that it was a public holiday (as we all do). So after that small let down we went on the hunt to find Sophie a coat for winter. We ended up finding a beautiful velvet jacket after going to seven other different places before hand however it is worth it! Sophie's list consisted of-

1. Jacket

2. bag

3. Slip

4. Belt

and a few others that were not that necessary

Unfortunately after spending 3 hours looking for all of them we only managed to get the jacket, moisturiser and exfoliater which smells like pink grapefruit, YUM!  However I did managed to get my tea lights, a tree light for my room and a peace hanger from Oxfam. In the corse of all this I took a few photos of the Bleeding Heart cafe and of my outfit of the day. So I get home and put up my lights and other goods in my room and took a few photos of it so I could upload it on here. So here is me trying to plug in my camera to my computer and of course! the lead does not fit in the camera. In the end my sister tried to find the camera lead in the shops but its an old model so they did not have them in stock anymore. So unfortunately i have no photos to put up today but I am going to find the charger to an old camera that I might have found.

Hey everyone,

My name is Joanna and i absolutely love the world of fashion (even if it can get a bit bitchy at times). As I am currently studying Fashion Design at TAFE, I have decided that it is time to create a fashion blog. What I hope to get out of my fashion course is the ability and the determination to open my own shop. I want my shop to stock clothes made by young designers who are not well known (like me!). I will support those young designers that need a boost of confidence to be able to develop their own label.

The reason that I want to kick-start this blog is so I can channel my inner fashion ideas to the world wide web, i.e. to every single person reading this blog (it might take a while to have more than one person reading it but I will still try!).

Beginning tomorrow I will take pictures of outfits that I LOVE. The outfits will be a mix. It may be the outfit of a fashion elite that has caught my eye, or may very well be someone that is off to work. I am also going to try and make the effort to take a picture of my outfit every day. Like most of us however, there will definitely be the occasional day where I just wear trackies (or maybe more than the 'occasional' day..).

Finally, I will try to keep you all updated with the latest fashion shows and trends (that I actually know of!).

So to start off, here is my first real fashion post.
